St. Johns — A 43-year old man was shot in the St. Johns business district on Saturday evening.
According to a Portland Police Bureau news release, officers were sent to the 8900 block of North Lombard (between Chicago and New York avenues) following reports of gunfire.
When they arrived they located evidence of gunfire. In a provided photo from the scene, you can count at least 14 evidence markers lining Lombard Avenue.
Officers learned that a patient was enroute to the hospital by a private vehicle. Officers met the 43-year-old man at the hospital, where he is being treated for serious, but not life threatening, wounds.
This is at least the second shooting in that area in recent months. On Oct. 22, officers responded to the 7300 block of North St. Louis Avenue at 9:18 p.m. on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to area hospitals by ambulance.
Saturday’s shooting investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 503-823-0400. Please reference case number 21-21350.
